A search for preparedness became a path to independence. What started with survival books, preparedness, and paracord became the first proof that I could build my own path.
The Desire Already Existed
Years before ELE existed, I was studying entrepreneurship, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and learning about ownership. I knew I wanted to build something of my own long before I knew what the vehicle would be.
2021
Pandemic preparedness led to survival books. Survival books led to cordage. Cordage led to paracord. Paracord led to Etsy. Etsy revealed an underserved niche and one simple thought: I can do this better.
I don’t love paracord. I love what ownership makes possible.
Books. Videos. Podcasts. Constantly growing my mind and expanding what’s possible.
Designing products. Taking photos. Creating systems. Building something from nothing.
Iterating. Listening to customers. Refining every detail. Never standing still.
Responsibility. Agency. Freedom to choose the direction and own the outcome.
Ownership Changed Everything
There came a point where continuing down the current path was no longer an option.
Uncertainty became preferable to certainty.
So I chose ownership. Not because it was easy. Because it was necessary.
The First World
The workshop that produces ELE Survival products eventually became home to much more: software, books, music, ideas, experiments, and entire worlds. But ELE came first.
